We can hardly Rein(schmidt) in our excitement as Andy joins the team!

We’re excited to welcome Andy to the lab as our newest Research Associate! Andy brings a strong background in bioinformatics, gene expression, and cell-cell interactions, with degrees from UC San Diego (B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology) and Cal State Fullerton (M.S. in Biology).

Nothing says bioinformatician like coffee & coding. 👾

He’s published first-author work on heat shock-induced pathways and is eager to dive into microbiology, sharpen his wet lab skills, and apply computational tools to the lab’s diverse projects. When he's not analyzing data, you’ll find Andy on the golf course, the pickleball court, around a board game, or playing piano.
