Mohona Datta is our new Research Assistant II bringing her expertise in molecular biology with her to our group! Mohona received her undergraduate in human biology in 2022 and masters degree in molecular biology in 2023, both at UC San Diego. She recently completed her thesis in virology titled: "The effect of TLR3, RIG-I, PKR, PRKRA, and Fas on the containment of VSV in HeLa cells".
As a graduate student, Mohona always enjoyed learning about immunology and host-pathogen interactions. She's joining the Roach Lab to bolster her research skills in microbiology and to explore the clinical applications of phage therapy as she pursues a medical career.
In her free time, Mohona enjoys playing the piano đš, writing poetry â, lifting weights đď¸ââď¸ (occasionally), and napping with her cat Ares đ.
