We're so excited to warmly introduce our visiting PhD scholar Danielle Devequi!
Danielle is visiting us from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology at the Federal University of Bahia in 2016 and her masters degree in human pathology at Gonçalo Muniz Institute, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in 2019. She is currently a PhD candidate (under the supervision of Dr. Roberto Badaro who previously visited our lab) at the Gonçalo Muniz Institute, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and works as a research specialist II at the SENAI Institute of Innovation (ISI) in Advanced Health Systems, SENAI/CIMATEC University Center, Bahia, Brazil. Danielle is visiting our group to learn more about phages and phage therapy applications.
No stranger to having fun, Danielle is having an amazing time in California and introducing us to Brazillian culture. (I know that I for one am now a huge fan of cachaça!) In her free time Danielle enjoys watching TV series 📺, going to the beach 🏖, and going out with friends to drink and dance 💃👯♀️.
